Hi I'm Diane Rogers

I'm a Mormon. My parents joined the Church in Illinois and we moved to Arizona when I was three. I am an enthusiastic genealogist

About Me

I am currently a professional genealogist, but have also been a piano teacher, home school Mom and Seminary teacher. During my married life I lived in Colorado, England, Mississippi and Texas with Texas being permanent home for about 25 years. I moved to Utah just three years ago and love it here just as I have loved everywhere I have lived. I have two children and am recently divorced. Though situations have been challenging, my testimony burns brighter than ever and my love for my Heavenly Father and Savior has grown tremendously. I know they are active in our lives and love everyone of us. The greatest desire of my heart is to have that pure love of Christ for all.

Why I am a Mormon

M parents were converts when I was a baby and have told me that they feel I brought the missionaries to them. They were examples of faithful Saints who obeyed the commandments and loved and served others with their whole hearts. I have always believed, but have increased in knowledge, testimony and love of the principles of the gospel through the years. I have studied the principles of the gospel as I taught them in Seminary and have found that the scriptures truly do have the answers and peace needed. My experiences in the Church vary from tremendous joy and light at comprehending truth a little deeper, from tremendous joy in service, to strength that comes from stretching in callings and trials. But, the most important thing I have gained in my life is a deep love and appreciation for the Savior. He really did sacrifice for us! He really does want the best for us and will help! I know He lives!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others. I believe the most important things we can learn in this life is how to love like God does and to learn to obey. That is because this is what He does - he loves purely and is perfectly obedient. I love to serve and each calling has been my favorite from teaching Primary, to leading in Primary and Relief Society, to directing a Family History Center, to teaching the youth, to visiting the sisters in our ward, to playing the organ, to leading the music. But, I have to say, that the calling in which i learned and loved the most was teaching early morning Seminary for seven years. I am not an early morning person, but I got up every morning because of my love of the teaching the scriptures and my love for the youth. It still makes me smile to think of those wonderful years.
