Hi I'm Jeremy

I was born and raised in Southeast Texas. I'm a mormon and life is always good!

About Me

I am 24 years old. I was born and raised in Texas with 2 older brothers. I had loving parents who raised me in a great home. I was a somewhat rebellious teenager and I have finally learned that my parents do love me. I am grateful for their patience and love. My family is very important to me. After I graduated high school I served a full-time mission for the LDS church in Sinaloa/Baja California Sur, Mexico. I love to help people. It's what I live for and I have come to find is one of the few things that gives me purpose and meaning in this life. I am now close to receiving a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and sport science and my plan is then to attend Physical Therapy school. I love sports. I love to play Tennis and especially Ultimate Frisbee. I also just started getting into Family History and Geneology work. I have lived in Texas, Hawaii, Utah, Mexico, and Idaho. I love the ocean as well. I love meeting all types of different people and I respect all people no matter who you are.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I was born into the LDS church and always attended church with my parents. I never completely knew it was true for myself until later in my teenage years. When I was around 17 years old I really began to read the scriptures more than ever before. And this is when that seed began to grow inside of me. I finally read the Book of Mormon all the way through and tried to promise made by the ancient prophet Moroni in Moroni chapter 10, verses 3-5. I needed to know for my own self. I saw that my close friends, older brothers, and parents knew it to be true but I lacked my own testimony of it's truthfulness. For me I didn't receive an answer right away. It came gradually. The more I read the words of God, the deeper they sunk into me and the more I believed. My the end of reading it through I knew it to be true because of small feelings while I read. And the more I put my faith into action the more testimony gained for myself. I was able to fellowship a good high school buddy and he ended up joining the church and serving a mission as well, even though his family wasn't in complete agreement. That was a special experience for me, because I got to experience my best friend feel the same thing as he started to study the scriptures. Serving full-time the people of Mexico changed my life. I now know that God truly loves all people on this earth and that our Heavenly Father's hand is involved with our everyday lives. I can confidently testify that miracles do happen and by being an instrument in the hands of God to change lives, these people that I came to love also changed me. I am Mormon because I know that it is in this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that there is the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I testify that our resurrected savior Jesus Christ is guiding his one and only church by a modern day Prophet right now in our modern times. And because of this knowledge and faith I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I hold the priesthood of God and my duty is to serve others with it. I help to bless and pass the sacraments each Sunday to the congregation, so that we can renew covenants we have made with God when we were baptized, and so that we can remember the infinite sacrifice Christ made for each one of us. I spent 2 years of my life in Mexico serving God and the people of Mexico. Some people think it a waste of 2 years since you aren't getting paid for it, but I wouldn't change my experience there for a price of money. Believe that! I have also served as a leader in a portion of the men's priesthood organization within the church. I currently serve for 5 hours a week inside of one of the many Holy Temples that dot this earth. Dressed in all white, I am able to help officiate in sacred ordinances within the Temple. And in each opportunity I have had to serve, it has stretched me and helped me to grow and learn. Everyone is unified in the purpose of helping each other become more like Christ and reaching out to those across the world also. We clothe the naked and feed the poor and help in any way possible we can to help all children of God to come unto Jesus Christ and be saved.
