Hi I'm Jesse

I am an artist. I make video games. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a beautiful wife and father of two hilarious kids. I recently graduated college with a BFA in animation. My family and I moved to Washington to start my first real world job making video games, and I couldn't be more excited. I am an artist and it has always been a dream of mine to make art for top of the line movies or games, and I have been blessed to begin living that dream.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a personal witness that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. This world is pretty chaotic. I know that through living the principles that have been set by Jesus Christ and brought forth through modern day prophets that my family and I will be guided through life's storms. I am helped on a daily basis by living the way that God has commanded, and not by merely doing what I think would be fun. In every aspect of life I am guided. Every time I ask my Heavenly Father a question, I am answered. It may not always be the answer that I want, but I know that He knows that it is the answer that I need. I have been guided through difficult decisions, trials and hardships by merely asking and doing my best to get through them. Life is not easy, but I know that with the help of my Heavenly Father I can always get through what life throws at me. I know that Christ lives and that if we do our best to emulate his life, we will be happy, and we will return to live with them after our lives on earth are over.

How I live my faith

I live every day trying to ensure that I enrich other peoples lives, whether it be in conversation or the way that I live. I love sharing my beliefs with others knowing that if they let the message of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints into their hearts that it will bring joy into their lives. I love to have fun, and show others that being Mormon doesn't eliminate fun from life. It only ensures that the fun that I have doesn't damage me or others spiritually, or physically. In my church I have a calling to teach the youth about the principles that Mormons are taught to live. It is hilarious to find out ways that I can keep their attention and really keep them interested in things that are meant to help us live happier and fuller lives. It is a privilege and a burden to know that I have a responsibility to ensure that the kids that I teach understand the importance of following in Christ's footsteps. I love living this gospel and living it makes me love it more by how much joy it brings to me and my family.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Actually none of us are required to go at all. From ages of 19 - 21 it is strongly recommended, because of the immense personal growth that one goes through being out on their own, living their lives as Jesus Christ would. However if one elects not to serve a mission, or is unable to due to other circumstances, they are not exiled from the church, but typically continue on with their lives living the principles that God has given us. Why is family so important to Mormons?

We believe that families are eternal, or forever. We believe that if a family lives all the commandments that God has given us that we will all be united after this life, living together for eternity. It is so important that we foster love and care for our family members not only to help them throughout this life, but so we can be together forever afterward. If not everyone lives up to the requirements set forth by God, we cannot all be together, which in itself would be a tragedy. Families are meant to strengthen and help one another so in the end we can all be together again in happiness. Show more Show less
