Hi I'm Jon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We have four wonderful children, live in Colorado and love being outdoors doing things like hiking, biking, and camping as a family. I'm an engineer at a company that researches renewable energy sources. We believe in Jesus Christ and know that he is the Saviour of all mankind.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a firm belief that we live on this earth for a reason. We are children of a real heavenly father that loves us and has given us this chance to live and enjoy life, gain experiences, and learn. I grew up as a mormon. We always went to church but I wasn't always sure it was true, especially in the later teen years of my life. I reached a point to were I was working most Sundays and rarely made it to church. I started noticing something was missing in my life. After graduating high school I took a new job and started going back to church. I often thought to myself that I really needed to find out if what I was being taught was true, if there really was a God out there, if Jesus Christ really did exist, and if Joseph Smith was a real prophet. I decided to read the Book of Mormon for the first time in my life. It took me nearly a year. I prayed as I read. By the time I finished I had felt promptings that this was no fake book, but was indeed written by true men of a real God, and translated by a real prophet. My knowledge of the truth of the LDS message has only grown stronger since then.

How I live my faith

I believe that we can gain appriciation for what we have in this life by serving others. I've been asked to be a scoutmaster to our church's young men, which is no easy task. I have many friends that are off biking, snowbarding or backpacking while I am off doing activites with my scouts. I believe that I am rewarded so much more by giving up my time and serving these boys. I feel that I make a difference in their lifes. I learn and grow from the things that they teach me.
