Hi I'm Megan

A member of the Church for 5 years, married in the temple and currently raising my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom currently raising my sweet little girl. Prior to becoming a full-time mom, I taught 5th grade for 2 years. I grew up in Texas, and graduated from college in Texas. After a short stint in Utah, where my husband graduated with his Bachelors degree, we are currently living in Nebraska. In my spare time I enjoy crafting, sewing, watching movies, shopping, playing games, and spending time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it provides me with a firm foundation to stand on in a shaky world. I became a baptized member at the age of 20. Prior to this, I was in limbo not quite sure of what it was exactly that I believed in or who I wanted to be. I had nothing to stand on, and as a result I fell to things that didn't bring me happiness and left me feeling empty and lost. My Dad is a member of the church, and I grew up going to church with him off and on. I had learned the teachings of the church, but I never put much thought or effort in to learning them and truly seeking to know if they were true. At a point in my life when I felt the most empty and the most lost, I was presented with an opportunity by my Dad to be reacquainted with the teachings I had learned when I was younger, but had never truly considered. As I started to really read the Book of Mormon, and attend Church I felt a something that I knew I could not deny. I felt a fullness and happiness in my life that I had never felt before. I found a purpose and a calling in my life, unlike I had ever know. I knew this book contained the answers to happiness in my life. I knew it was what I had been seeking after and contained the answers of how to become the person who I wanted to become. After experiencing all of these feelings, I made the decision to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The blessings I've experienced since this pivotal moment in my life, I attribute to this decision. Because of this decision, I met my husband and was sealed to him for time and all eternity in 2008. We were blessed with a beautiful healthy daughter in 2010, that we are sealed to for time and all eternity as well. I'm so grateful for my husband and my daughter and I couldn't imagine my life without them, and because of this gospel, I do not have to. I get to be with them forever!

How I live my faith

I live my faith, by always living by the standards and teachings we as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe in. I always conduct myself in a virtuous and honest way. I talk in a way that is appropriate and unoffensive. I treat others with respect and am polite and courteous to everyone I meet. I dress in a manner that is appropriate and modest. I watch and listen to music and movies that are appropriate and uplifting. These help me to stay in a mindset that allows me to be uplifted and in tune with hearing the promptings for the Holy Ghost. By conducting myself in this manner, it allows me to feel happy and warm. As a member of my church, I serve and teach Sunday School to 3 and 4 year olds every Sunday. I do this voluntarily and enjoy this responsibility. These precious 3 and 4 year olds are so sweet and I enjoy working with them and teaching them about Jesus Christ and about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel their sweet spirits when I work with them, and I feel how much Heavenly Father loves them. I live my faith by teaching these sweet children about it! I also live my faith by having family prayer every night. We pray to our Father in Heaven and maintain contact. I also read my scriptures and feel close to my Heavenly Father while I read them. Through the words of these ancient prophets, I am given promptings of what to do in my life and answers to questions I am seeking. I am given comfort and feelings that I cannot find elsewhere.
