Hi I'm Ted Durham

I'm a Mormon. I believe in God and His son, Jesus Christ, who the Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of.

About Me

I am a husband and father. I have always known that our Father in Heaven lives and strive to follow his commandments and serve others. My family is the most important thing to me in my life besides my love for my father in heaven. My wife is the love of my life. I enjoy spending time with my family and travelling with them. My wife and I enjoy being together and like to attend plays and the symphony. We enjoy music in our lives. I enjoy golfing, fishing and have a passion for mountain climbing. My sons enjoy these activites with me and we often take trips centered around these activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the principles of the gospel that are taught in our church. I am grateful for modern day prophets who help me to understand eternal values. I was introduced to the Mormon Church when I was a young man and was very impressed by the examples of the members. My good friend and his family invited me to attend church with them when I was young, and I admired his family. My father passed away when I was young and so the men in the church who held the priesthood were good examples. I knew that I wanted to grow up and share the values that they had. I was also impressed by the importance the church placed on families. I wanted to dedicate my life to following the Savior's example and be of service to others. So today, I am a member of the Mormon Church and value every moment of my life. I know that I have the opportunity to live eternally with my father in heaven and with my family and this gives me great joy in my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy my callings at church. When I am called upon to help others, I enjoy doing so. It is wonderful to see people have joy in their lives. I visit with many people and not only enjoy talking with them, but learn from them also. I have always believed that we create the atmosphere we live in, and by living my life follwing our Savior, I receive blessings and enjoy hapiness in my life. I try to be kind to others always, and try to understand their lives and the challenges they face. I am a simple person and the gospel is for me. It's truths guide my life.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Ted Durham
Testimony is the spiritual witness we are given by the Holy Ghost. The foundation of a Mormon's testimony is the knowledge that our Heavenly Father lives and loves us; that Jesus Christ lives, that He is the Son of God, and that he carried out the infinite Atonement; that Joseph Smith is a prophet whom God called to restore Jesus Christ's church to the earth; that we are led by a living prophet today; and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior's Church restored on the earth today.
