I am an Eagle Scout and I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I was rasied in the church as a young boy and was baptized on my 8th birthday. As a teenager I fell away from the church and became inactive member for many years. (double digits) I had a man knock at my door and opened it to see a familiar face, it was one of my youth leaders that took me to the youth dances and other youth activities. He said that he was looking at a list of inactive members on the church rolls and ran across my name. I having an unusual last name he knew I had to be the same one. Even with my wife not letting him come in the house he started coming by to check in on me every couple of months. This went on for several years standing on the back porch talking. Then one day my daughter looks at me and says daddy do you believe in god and i told her yes and then she said then why do we not go to church. i could not give her an answer. After praying about it and remembering every thing that i was taught as a youth and the values that the church has on the family. I decided to go to church with my daughter three years ago and i have been going every sense. The church helps me keep things in better focus in todays crazy world and noise that we live in today. Through my Faith of our Heavenly Father and the sacrifice of his only begotten son Jesus Christ made for all of us through the atonement, when it's all said and done, we too can live with our heavenly father and be sealed together as a Family for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

I accepted a calling to be an adult leader for my local ward Scouting program. I have families that I home teach every month and bring the lessons from todays living profit and his counselors. I volunteer for service projects in our local communities and travel to other states in times of natural disasters like the tornadoes in Alabama. I seek after anything virtuous, praiseworthy, or of good report. Choosing appropriate entertainment and music. I try to be reverent in all that i do including prayer, scripture study, paying my tithing, wearing modest clothing, and having wholesome thoughts I try to live my life as I was raised in every thing I do by being trust worthy, courteous and kind to fellow co workers and strangers alike, to be loyal to give an honest full day of work to my employer. I try to be Helpful even when there are those that don't want to ask, making righteous choices and being good to all men even when no one is watching.
