Hi I'm Cecily

I live in Arizona. I love dance of all kinds. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mother of four children. I started taking Karate about a year ago and I love it! I try to eat healthy and stay physically fit. I love to read, especially young adult novels. (such as the Harry Potter and the Percy Jackson books) I enjoy the arts, dance most of all.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family where both my parents were (and are) Mormons. My parents encouraged me to find out for myself the truth of doctrines of the church. As a young adult, I prayed to know if the teachings of the restored church of Jesus Christ are true and I received a personal confirmation through the power of the Holy Ghost that they are. As I tried my best to keep the commandments and follow Jesus Christ's example, my testimony of Jesus Christ and his church grew and I knew in my heart and soul that it was right for me to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

It is very important to me to start every day with what I call "personal devotions". I spend about a half an hour (sometimes more) in the morning in private prayer and scripture study. This helps me to stay more spiritually-minded and to live my faith more fully every day. My husband and I (or sometimes just I) then gather our children together to study the scriptures and pray together. I then feel prepared to face the busy-ness of the day. In church on Sunday, I lead the music for the women's meeting. I try to attend not only the meetings on Sunday, but the occasional meetings that sometimes happen during the week. I also try to be aware of ways in which I can serve those I come into contact with in my daily interactions. I make a conscious effort to give others the benefit of the doubt and try to be loving and forgiving of those around me, as Jesus did. My goal is to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I often make mistakes, or fall short, but I keep trying.
