Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Vegas. I love videogames. I love volleyball. I am musically talented. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 6'5" so I'm used to people running up to me to exclaim "Wow your tall!", Even though everyone says I have blue eyes I swear that they are green. I mainly think that because my mom promised me when I was young that "If you eat your vegetables you too can have green eyes", and I did. My hobbies are reading, videogames, volleyball, and singing. I would have played football, but growing up my mother always told me "You're bigger than the other kids, you have to hold back when you push/shove so you don't hurt them", because of that I decided to play volleyball (a sport where physical contact with the other team is not likely). As a volleyball player I played middle for two years and opposite hitter for two year. I went to two semesters of college majoring in buisiness. I have sung in middle and high school for 6 years. I have two older sisters and one older brother. My brother is married and has two kids, one daughter and one son.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have prayed to know if the Book of Mormon is true. The next time I went to church I felt a sureness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And I continue to have that feeling every day. Every day is another testimony that this Church is true. Continual daily prayer, scripture study, and service help assure me that this is the Lord's Kingdom on the Earth. Conversions do not happen only in one moment. Conversions take a life time. This church is true and I know that others can obtain that knowledge. The key to get knowledge is Prayer, Desire, and True Intention. If we have a desire to know and true intention to act upon that knowledge, we will obtain an answer to our prayer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not smoking, by avoiding drugs, by not drinking coffe, tea, and alcohol. I go to church every sunday. I am active in my callings, which were being in our local(ward) and district(stake) choir and being an 11 year old scout leader assistant. Recently I was on a mission in the Iowa Des Moines mission. I am now a primary Pianist, which means I play the piano for the kid's Sunday school. As I have grown in my life the above are some of the more visible examples of living my faith. But the less visible ones are important. I read the scriptures and try to learn from the experiences in those scriptures. Also controlling my thoughts is another example of how I live my faith. All of our actions come from our thoughts. So by having my spirit control my mind makes it easier to control my body. I love reading the scriptures. I like to figure out how scriptures build upon eachother. I find that a lot of people like to build doctrine on one single line of scripture. I like to figure out the entire truth and how each scripture makes the doctrine more complete. I also love to find out why people believe what they do.
