Hi I'm Lorie

I was raised in an untraditional family my mom and poppers were in their 60's raising a baby. I'm Latter- Day Saint

About Me

26 years ago I married my best friend and still get butterflies when I see him. The Lord had other plans for us with children, we were never able to have children of our own but the Lord has blessed me with my second love of animals. We have four legged kids that bring us just as much joy. I work as an LPN and love the nursing field. It is a good fit for me. Since my parents were older, I did not have many friends my age growing up because I was "different" I find it easy to love those who are different. I recently decided that one day I would like to become a travelling RN and so I have went back to school to work towards my RN. I am looking forward to a more fulfilling career as a nurse.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it has been the one stable thing in my life. I have this peace that sits deep within the core of my soul that lets me know that I have a Heavenly Father that knows my name personally and loves me personally. In some of my darkest hours when no one else would come, My Heavenly Father would always let me know that I was loved and this moment would be but a brief moment. I have a joy that fills my soul with an endless joy. I am saddened that there are so many who have lost their belief in "happiness". But the greatest treasure the Gospel has taught me is how to love purely and unconditonally. That has been my greatest blessing to have loved and to be loved and there is no greater teacher on how to love then our Heavenly Father and Savior. I thank them daily for my cup truly runneth over.

How I live my faith

Being my career choice has been health care, I believe the best example on how I live my faith are those quiet moments when ones frail body has decided to leave this existence and continue on to a better place. I have sat with friends who shared my beliefs and friends who have not shared my beliefs. I have carressed their faces, stroked their hands and reassured that all would be well. Those quiet moments are ones that I will always cherish. Just being a instrument to help them peacefully leave is such a blessing; and there is no doubt in my mind that one day our paths will meet again and what a joyous reunion that day will be.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

There is no doubt in my mind that Families can be together forever. The picture I chose was taken on my parent's 66th wedding aniversary. My mom and poppers were going through the temple for their first time and we were sealed as a family. As I was sitting in the temple with my parents I knew that even death would not break our families bond. My poppers was called home shortly after that experience and even now these many years later my soul is comforted that one day we will meet again and no longer will be seperated by death.
