Hi I'm Leah Faye Maple

I'm an animal lover, a newlywed, and I am proud to say that I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Leah. I love animals! I am a college student majoring in Special Education. I'm a member of Alpha Sigma Tau! I have been a member of the Church since May 2011 and am glad to have the Gospel in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in church (not the LDS church) all of my life. It wasn't until high school that I began to take my faith seriously. I felt that I had a strong relationship with the Lord. I went to church every Sunday and Wednesday evenings and was involved in my church youth group. Although I went to church every Sunday and read my Bible, I still felt something was missing. I tried searching different denominations looking for the true church. I prayed often and read my Bible and searched more. There was a period where I became frustraded and tried to avoid anything that had to do with my faith all together. One evening I stumbled accross Mormon.org and read all of the wonderful things of the church. Although my parents never said such things, I attended a youth event with my church that had a class explaining why the LDS isn't the true church and I even had a fear of it. As I read the articles on Mormon.org I had a feeling that the Church was a loving place and wasn't anything to be feared of at all! Months later after meeting with the missionaries and praying to my Heavenly Father and reading the Book of Mormon, I became baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I finally feel like I can go through life with confidence and I never have to question my beliefs. If I ever have questions, I know the Church will have the answers. I am so very happy to be part of a loving family!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I also strive to read my scriptures daily. I love meeting with the missionaries and talking with other members in my church. Because I don't know too many Latter-day Saint members, I try to educate others about my faith.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Leah Faye Maple
Families can be together forever! How amazing is that?! Heavenly Father has a plan for us to follow in order for us to be with Him and our families for all eternity. By going to the temple we can be sealed to our families. Show more Show less

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Leah Faye Maple
A typical Church service consists of hymns, prayers, passing of the Sacrament (communion) and two or three assigned speakers. The reason why I love Sacrament meeting is because every member is involved one way or another. A member will be assigned to lead the congregation in song, as another member will be assigned to play the piano or organ. A member will be asked to give the opening prayer, as another member will be asked to give the closing prayer. Members with the priesthood will be assigned to pass the Sacrament. Two or three members will be asked to speak to the congregation on an assigned topic. The Church is organized in such an amazing way and no one is left out! What we love more than anything is visitors. We love getting to know people. My conversion began when I randomly walked into church one day as a visitor and I was accepted with wide, open arms by the members. So, of course you are welcome to church! We would love to meet you!
