Hi I'm Catherine.

I'm a college student. I love to write. I love movies. I love the beach. I love burritos. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've moved from California, to Utah, to Iowa, and back again. I don't have a specific place I can call my "hometown". It's difficult to establish yourself when you're busy trying to fit in with the people around you. However, I've finally settled and know what I want and what I love. I sing with my sisters, I love movies, love to read, and am a hopeless romantic. I live by the beach, love to be weird with friends, and love Mexican food. I also go to Disneyland a lot. One of my heroes is Walt Disney. He knew what he wanted, and he determined to achieve his goals - no matter the circumstances. I plan on majoring in English at college, and hope to start a family one day with someone I'm very much in love with.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only thing that has brought me happiness. I've made bad decisions in life, thinking that having things under MY control was right, but doing that? I only felt disappointment and grief. Being LDS, I know of God's plan for us, and know that to become the best version of myself, I have to follow His plan. I've never felt more joy than when I'm feeling His spirit and doing what's right. My religion keeps me motivated, not only to keep going to church, but to keep going in life. I know that my Father in Heaven loves me and has a plan for me. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon; that it's true, and that if anyone believes in the Bible, they will also believe in the Book of Mormon, for it is truly another testament of Christ. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins, that he lives again, and that because of his sacrifice I will be blessed with eternal life. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and I know my Church is the most true church on this Earth.

How I live my faith

I go to church youth activities on Wednesdays, I participate in early-morning seminary classes, and am a young women's youth leader in my Sunday school class. I read scriptures daily, and say morning and evening personal prayers. I also participated in a Young Women's Personal Progress project, that involves analysis of personal life, social life, and spiritual growth. Now, I am serving a mission for my church in Croatia. I try to live my faith by serving others and developing Christ-like love for the people around me.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Catherine.
Much like the Bible, the Book of Mormon is a compiliation of written works from many different authors that lived before, during, and after Christ, and testify of His divinity. The contents were originally on separate plates, but it was abridged into one book by a prophet named Mormon, which is why it is called the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith did not write it, but rather translated these works into English by the power of God. If you want to find out for yourself if its true, follow the advice in Moroni 104, to read and sincerely pray about it, and feel the power of the Holy Ghost testify to you that it's true.
