Hi I'm Todd

I'm a Mormon. I am from Indiana, USA.

About Me

I am a husband and father with 4 daughters. I work in Purchasing and Material Management. I enjoy gardening, golf cycling and many other outdoor activities. I love to travel and speak Japanese pretty well. I am learning Mandarin Chinese. I studied anthropology and history in college and have an MBA. I enjoy learning in all fields. Yet, I appreciate a simple and slower-paced life that includes time to think and relax. I enjoy music and art. I am studying oil painting and have even picked up the clarinet again--which I haven't played since high school. Life to me is an adventure and I enjoy looking for the good and interesting in people and places whether in my own backyard or all over the world.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormons and I was brought up as a Mormon from my childhood. But as I grew up I realized that I had to know whether what I had been raised to believe was true and real. I had to face whether I really accepted the things I had been taught or that I was merely conforming to the expectations of others. From the time I was 14 years old, I made a determined effort on my own to know for myself if the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ was true--whether the Mormon Church is true. Through personal discovery, I received an undeniable spiritual witness that the Mormon Church is true, that I am truly a child of God and that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior. I came to know that Jesus Christ lives and is personally interested in me and all other people today. This knowledge has been reaffirmed throughout my life since that time. That knowledge has given meaning and purpose to life, it enriches my learning and work. It brings true joy to my family life, to my work and to all of my hobbies, recreation and interests.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Jesus Christ in all that I do. I find that I can apply the principles of His Gospel to my daily work and relationships with all people. In the church I have been a teacher or a leader in many different roles. I have the opportunity to visit others regularly, to give community service and to help those in need. I feel that my church service has given me excellent experiences that I can use anywhere. These opportunities to serve allow me to make a difference in people's lives and help me learn to be a real friend. I served a mission for two years in Japan when I was a young man and that experience taught me to respect and love people of all lands. There are good people in every land and culture and I feel I can connect with them through the things I have learned. I am not perfect, but living the teachings of Jesus Christ remind me everyday of the type of person I can be and I look forward every day for a chance to better.
