Hi I'm Kelsey

I am a mile wide and an inch deep. I love all things music, athletics, literature, and art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying athletic training. I love learning, particularly about the body. Anatomy, physiology, kinesiology: you name it, I love it. I also love learning new words and integrating them into my vocabulary. I always have a dictionary nearby. I love singing, dancing, reading, and yoga; I love musical theater, and I want to have season tickets to the Symphony. Music is my passion, and playing the piano is my favorite passtime. I am a huge college sports fan, and love a good football or basketball game. I love spending time with my family and the older I get, the more I realize how much I love them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. I know that Christ lives, and that He atoned for my sins, my weaknesses, my pains, and my shortcomings. His atonement was not an event limited to Gethsemane and Calvary. As Christ lives, so His atonement continues to work. I guess I'm a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church that has taught me how I can access the atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. It has helped me understand that the atonement is not a far-away, uncomprehensible thing, but something that I can use in my life everyday to become a little bit better. Through the atonement I can be forgiven of my sins. I can be comforted when I'm in despair. I can overcome bad habits and implement good ones. In short, I can change because of the atonement of Christ. I love learning about the atonement through studying the New Testament, the Book of Mormon, and the words of our Prophets in these days. It's through learning about the Savior that I've come to know Him and feel Him in my life. I believe that He leads this church through a prophet, and the way I was able to know that is by studying the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it is true. The Holy Ghost confirmed to me that it really is the word of God, and because of that, I know that the authority to act in Christ's name has been restored to the earth. This Priesthood allows me to make covenants with God, and to feel His presence more fully in my life.

How I live my faith

Every day I try and come a little bit closer to Jesus Christ. It's not always easy; in fact, it's often difficult, but as I try, Christ strengthens me. I try and do the things that Christ would have me do. When I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I promised that for the rest of my life I would follow Jesus Christ and be His witness to those around me. I try to lift and serve those around me and keep my thoughts and actions pure. I try to be an example to others and help them feel Heavenly Father's and Jesus Christ's love for them. It may sound simple, and it is, but I live my faith by trying my best to keep the commandments of God, and repenting when I fall short. This is what brings great joy to my life.
