Hi I'm Mike

I'm a doctor, I'm a teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the father of 3 amazing kids. My wife and I grew up in the Northeast, spent the first year of our marriage in Japan (I was in the Navy) and now call the Midwest home. As a family doctor in a university training program, I am privileged to be able to both care for my own patients and to help train the next generation of family physicians.

Why I am a Mormon

My great-grandmother joined the Church in Germany and immigrated to Utah. Even though I was raised in the Church, the time came when I had to choose for myself the standards upon which I would base my life. I have learned, occasionally through trial and error, that the more my life is aligned with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the happier I am.

How I live my faith

I currently have the privilege of serving as a bishop, the lay leader of our local congregation. One of the greatest blessings of that calling has been to truly come to know the members of my congregation, to better understand their challenges and strengths and to see the loving service that they give to one another. I am humbled by their goodness. I want to be a better disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ so that I can be of greater help to them.
