Hi I'm Wendy

I was born in Anchorage Alaska, however I have been in Washington State for 37yrs. I am a Mormon and I love my life.

About Me

I converted to the church 34 yrs ago when I was 15. I got married in 1990 to a non-member, which he was always very supportive. We had our daughter in 2000. My husband passed away Dec 7, 2009 from ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease), we were Sealed as a family Dec 2010. I am now a stay at home mom after 20yrs as a Dental Assistant. My strong faith is what has gotten me through these past couple of years. I do not know how people do it without the knowledge of Eternal Life and Families, it is hard enough without the Gospel, I couldn't imagine how hard it is without it. I know Jesus is the Christ and He loves me and helps me everyday. I know I will see my wonderful husband again in Eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

Because when I was growing up we were allowed to go to church but my dad didn't want us baptized until we were old enough to decide, 16 was the magical age he chose. So my 2 sisters and I went to other churches through out our lives and my oldest sister started going to the LDS church in Pennsylvania and I tagged along, as she didn't want to go by herself. My sister was baptized first then we moved to WA, and I continued to go with her. I took the discussions and I knew that all that I was searching for I had found. I was baptized a month before I turned 16. My other sister was later baptized and went on a mission. Even though I became inactive for 8 yrs, I always knew what the truth was and never denied it. I was so grateful for a loving visiting teacher that visted me every month that last inactive year. I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father that never gave up on me and patiently waited for me to return. I will be forever grateful to those two fine missionaries that taught me so many years ago and for the Spirit that guided me to the truth.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Scouting program as an assistant den leader, I love working with the youth of the church, they are truly choice Spirits that have been sent here. The Scouting program is such a great way to help develop the young men today into strong leaders of tomorrow. I also am a visiting teacher, I visit other sisters in the ward and share gospel messeges with them and find out if there are any needs in their homes that needed attending to, if it is something that requires more help then I can physically give then I seek more help for them. I love visiting with the different woman of the church, I learn so much from them.
