Hi I'm Bernice

I'm a Mormon. I was born with a rich heritage of ancestors who were part of the Pioneers who settled Utah, Wyo, and Nevada.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of 3, and a grandmother of 6. I love being around my family. I love getting to know my children as adults, and my grandchildren as they grow. My husband and I have been married for 43 years....and it just gets better all the time. I love to read, cook and bake, do home canning, crochet, and go camping. I love doing Family Search Indexing online. I love getting to know people, and that probably started because I am the oldest of 11 children. I have 7 brothers and 3 sisters. People are my life and my joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, or member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I know in every fiber of my being that Jesus is the Christ, that God lives and is our Heavenly Father, and that the Holy Ghost witnesses all truth to anyone who truly seeks to know. I love my Heavenly Father, and I know He loves me. I know that He knows me, personally, He knows who I am, and He knows the desires of my heart. I know that He sees me as I really am. I know that He is utterly fair, and that I can trust Him, trust His promises, and lean on Him as I encounter the storms of life. He has never failed me. I know that because Jesus Christ atoned for the sins of all who repent, that I can repent of the wrongs I commit or the good I fail to do. I know that we can simply address our Heavenly Father, and ask "Do you love me?", and He will respond in such a way that the answer is completely understandable. An answer that will give us courage to seek Him out, and come to know Him through studying the scriptures which are accounts of men and women through the millennia who wrote accounts of their experiences with our Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. I know them. I testify that they live, and that they are truly concerned with each individual on the face of the earth. I know this, and I so testify in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

How I live my faith

My faith is part and parcel of my everyday life. I pray morning and night, and in between. I am concerned with the welfare of my family, friends, and neighbors. On Sundays, I team teach the 12 year old class in Sunday school. Once a month I, with another lady, go and visit 3 ladies. We inquire about how life is going for them, visit and listen to them, and leave a gospel message with them. We bear our testimony of the truths we discuss, if we have a testimony of the subject, which we often do have. If there are sick people in the "ward" (congregation), we take in food, or care for children, or help them in their homes. True faith has to be incorporated in every act we do, and every thought we think. It makes us who we are.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Bernice
We believe that we have always existed, forever, or eternally. We believe that the Lord has given His servants the authority to seal families together, forever. We look forward to life beyond this mortal sphere, spent with our families, working for the good of mankind. Show more Show less
