Hi I'm Alicia

I'm a wife and mama to 3, a doula in training and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend much of my time caring for my three small children and our home. But when I can sneak a few minutes for myself you'll find me reading or blogging or (when I'm being really good) working out. I love learning about health, nutrition and natural birth (all three kids were born at home). We love to take our family on long walks and enjoy all the beauty of Boulder.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was seven years old my parents began searching in earnest for truth. They found it in the Mormon church. I listened in on many of the meetings they had with missionaries and even at that tender age I could feel that what they taught was true. My parents were baptized and I later followed at age 8. But being a baptized member of the church was only the beginning. As I got older I couldn't just rely on the faith of my parents, I needed to study, ask questions and learn for myself whether the things I had been taught were true. I had to find out for myself. I read the Book of Mormon, I prayed and I came to know that it is true. Once you know it becomes easy to live it.

How I live my faith

What I believe touches every part of my life. A few examples: We believe that motherhood is a sacred job and so I try and honor it as such. We believe that families can be together forever so my husband and I work hard at creating a loving home and having a good marriage. We believe in being Christlike and serving people around us and so we say yes when opportunities arise to help people in need. We believe that our bodies are temples and so we treat them as such by eating good foods and exercising. We believe that Jesus Christ is our perfect example and so we pattern our actions and words after His.
