Hi I'm Curtis

I'm a Management Analyst. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to travel! In business, I traveled to most of the 50 United States. I have lived in Utah, Texas, Florida, Nevada and London and I have traveled to Australia and India. Through my travels I found most people have a lot in common with me regardless of race, education, social status, or religious upbringing. I like to see success from my efforts, I want to be treated fairly, I want to be safe and happy. Educationally, I have a BS in Business Administration and a MS in Engineering Management. I am a state employee during the day and when not with my family, I enjoy a hobby of writing and editing articles, graphic design, and document layout. More importantly, I'm a father of five children, two boys and three girls, and a wonderful new daughter-in-law. Their ages range from 23 years to 1 year. Years ago I served a full-time mission in London, England and loved my time there in the land of my forefathers.

Why I am a Mormon

Although reared in the church, there came a time where I had to decide for myself my beliefs, the direction of my life, and how I wanted my family to be raised. In my long quest, I found that my life has been greatly enhanced due to my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The friends I have made, the experiences and opportunity for physical, mental, and spiritual growth has been in areas I would not likely have encountered elsewhere. But primarily, the closeness I feel to my Heavenly Father and the strength I draw from the teachings of Jesus Christ has been life-altering. I have been greatly blessed. Life's challenges are met head on and they are more easily kept in perspective and overcome.

How I live my faith

I attend weekly meetings on the sabbath, I volunteer my time to help fill needs of the congregation in a variety of ways, mainly through sharing my talents. I believe my faith is not limited to Sunday. I am a son of God every hour of every day and do my best to live up to His standards and expectations. I try to live my life after the example of the Savior, Jesus Christ. By doing so, I find that I am better able to avoid or work through the stress of day-to-day living.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Curtis
Yes, it is true, Christ visited the Americas. One of the exciting high-points of the Book of Mormon is an account of Jesus Christ appearing to a people in ancient America, one of my favorite passages. It which tells of prophetic warnings leading up to the death of the Savior, His appearance after his death in the Old World, and His dealings with faithful followers at the time. The account tells of healing the sick and other miracles, blessing children, teaching His gospel as he did in the Old World, and establishing his church among the ancient Americans (see 3 Nephi 6 – 27). Every time I re-read this account, my testimony is strengthened and I feel a sweet witness that this is true. A spiritual moment that I cherish with each new reading and I feel I know my Savior and His personality a little bit better. Show more Show less
