Hi I'm Robert

I grew up in Idaho, spent 25 years in Utah and am now back in Idaho. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Spent 3 years in US Navy as an airborne radio code operator, served in Alaskan-Canadian Mission, graduated from college with a Bachelors Degree. Taught Electronics, Math, Physical Science and Computer Repair at the high school level. After retiring I served 30 months as a World Wide Support missionary and also served as Family History Center Director in two locations. Married a lovely lady who was involved in Extraction and Indexing at the Family History Center and we have purchased a used motor home so hope to do some traveling in the sunny, warm South this winter.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm happiest when I keep the commandments and when I stumble, I get right back up and find some good things to do by serving others. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He has atoned for my sins. I am striving to live each day so that my activities are pleasing unto Him. Some days I do better than others but I keep trying each day. I desire to do good to all men, even those who misunderstand me or who falsely accuse me. While I do not understand how it will all work out, I have faith that it will because God is over all things. I have seen His Divine Signature in many things such as the day the hot water pipe broke under our house. It must have taken many years for that 1/2 inch galvanized pipe to finally rust through and yet I just happened to be under the house next to it when it finally broke. What a mess it would have made had I not been there! Several times before I had planned on insulating those pipes but had not done so, but waited until the day that the pipe actually broke. Not a coincidence in my opinion. God was blessing me even through adversity. We need to look more closely for God in our adversities because we are here to be tried and tested but He is here with us if we will seek him. The Plan of Salvation is the only thing I have found that even comes close to explaining what life is all about and what will happen in the hereafter.

How I live my faith

I try to help other people when I see a need. I spend a lot of time in Family History work because I believe our relationships will continue in the hereafter. I have spent many years teaching the basic principles underlying the US Constitution. I believe in less government, more individual responsibility and with God's help, a better world.
