Hi I'm Domanique

I'm a wife. A California girl at heart. I'm a stylist. I'm a cake decorator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six. Married to the most amazing and compassionate man. I was born in California but grew up in Arizona. We moved to Arizona when I was seven so that my mom could give us better opportunities. I eventually attended BYU and later served a mission in Oklahoma. I came home and began dating my gorgeous husband but not after returning to BYU for one more year. After dating long distance for nine months we were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. We have been living through happiness and hardships but it has been blissful with the other by our side. I love hiking, bike riding, reading, movies, dancing in the kitchen, baking and decorating cakes, vacationing, being a hairstylist, being a foodie and being geeky with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't raised a member of the church, my family was never particularly active in any church. I remember attending multiple churches with my aunt, even at a very young age I hungered for the gospel. Eventually my mom came in contact with members of the church and loved how the gospel taught about eternal families and decided to meet with the missionaries. After meeting with missionaries my mom was baptized and eventually I followed by my siblings were baptized as they turned 8. But with my family being so young and my mom being a single parent attending church was hard and rarely occurred. My family eventually moved and while on a new school bus route I was sitting next to a new girl who asked if I was doing anything that night and she invited me to a church activity. Turns out this young girl was a member of my new ward and took the chance to invite me to an activity that I needed to attend. I made new friends that night who blessed my life who wrapped their arms around me and brought me and my family back to the gospel. Those twelve year old girls brought us back to the church but the doctrine has kept me there. Knowing that my family can be together forever has planted me firmly into the gospel of Jesus Christ. Knowing that Prophets walk the earth today and testify of Christ and teach me how to become a better wife, daughter, sister and someday mother keeps me growing in the church. Knowing that the Book of Mormon and Bible go hand in hand and testify of Christ keeps me growing in the church. Knowing that I have a father in Heaven who knows who I am and loves me keeps me growing in the church.

How I live my faith

I am in charge of the children's organization in my ward. This includes about thirty kids ages 18 months to 12 years. I love it. It has been a very new experience but so rewarding. I have loved serving the children and helping them to understand the love their Heavenly Father has for them. It is so rewarding to see them recognize that he loves them. I love singing with all these little voices, they can out sing any choir I know. I come away filled with love for these children being able to understand just a small fraction of Gods love for them.
