Hi I'm Mason

I love the outdoors. I'm a football fanatic. I'm a country boy. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outside, whether it's hunting, fishing, hiking, snowboarding, camping, horseback riding, or throwing around a football. I'm a convert to the church. I'm an Electrical Engineering student. I'm the middle child with two older twin sisters and a younger brother. My family means the world to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the Church in my life but was never a member. It wasn't until after high school that I started to contemplate the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through thoughtful pondering and prayer I gained a testimony of the gospel. The Church has brought great happiness and peace into my life, I don't know where I would be without the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have lived me faith by doing all that I can to follow Christ. I enjoy serving others more than anything. This is one of the greatest opportunities we have as human beings is to serve others and the help them when they are done. No greater feel comes than when in the service of your fellow beings.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

New members are baptized because its what Jesus Christ taught. He set the example and showed us what we need to do and how to do it, and thats baptize by immersion by someone who holds the priesthood power of God. When we are baptized we recieve a remision of all of our sins. Every mistake we have made in our life is made clean through this ordinance. If we continue to follow Christ´s teachings, keep his commandments, and continually strive to be better, we will retain this remision of sins for all of eternity. Baptism is also a requisit to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven or the presence of our Heavenly Father. Christ was baptized and he had no sin. He was baptized because it was a commandment of God and was required to return to his presence. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

To know why a Resorationof the the Gospel was need we first need to look at what the Church of Jesus Christ was founded upon. Some of the earlies stories of Christ tell of his miricles he preformed, such as turning water into wine. These acts indicated the begining of his prophetic ministry and show us the first fundumental part of the Church of Christ, a prophet. Then as Christ continued on his ministery, man people began to follow him, these people were known as his disiples. From these many, he chose 12 to be his Apostles. This brings us to the second fundumental part of Christ´s church, Apostles. In Luke 9:1 Christ gives an amazing gift to his Apostles. He gives them power and authority to heal and cast out evil spirts. The power and authority is called the Priesthood. Which is the third part of the church. Now, there are many instances when Christ was confronted with oposition and he replied with what had been previously taught by prophets of old. He often said, for it is written.. and then would explain what was writtin. Theses writing which Christ studied and knew are the scriptures. The scriptures are the fourth and final fundumental part to the true church of Christ. However with time, the people killed Christ and his Apostles. And with their deaths, the priesthood power left the Earth entirly. Thus leaving only the bible to lead and guid us. However, our Heavenly Father loves us and is just, so throught the prophet Joseph Smith the Gospel was restored to the earth. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is a belief in something unseen, but in something that is true. For example, to believe we have a brain when we cannot see it, or to believe in God when we cannot see him. This belief is not only to say you belive in God, but to really trust and have confidence in him. This leads to action becuase faith without works is dead. Faith is not only a belief, it also means to act, to demonstrate that we belive and trust in God. We do this by following his commandments and live out lives in acordance with what Christ taught. Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testment of the divinity of Jesus Christ and his earthly mission. It is a record written by acient prophets who lived in the American continent. The Book of Mormon starts around 600 B.C. when a prophet, Lehi, his family, and several other leave Jeruselem and sail to the Americas. Lehi was called to preach the true and everlasting gospel unto his family and to keep a record of thier dealings. This recorded was passed down from generation to generation, in which prophets were called to lead the people and to keep the record. With time this group of people became a great civilization that divided into two seperate nations. There were many wars between the two until finally one destroyed the other, aproximetly 420 A.D. At the time of this distruction, a prophet named Mormon, took all the writing and records of all the past prophets and compiled them into one book. This book was then passed on to his son Moroni who added his own word and then finally hid the book in a hill to conserve it for future generations. Then in the year 1820 the boy prophet Joseph Smith was led to the location of this ancient record. Joseph Smith did not write the book but with time and preparation he translated the book into English with the title The Book of Mormon, with the name Mormon coming from the prophet who complied the records into one.
