Hi I'm Marybeth

I'm studying to be a teacher. And I'm a Mormon...as of October 29, 2010!

About Me

I am a junior in college, studying to be an elementary school teacher. I enjoy photography, mostly of nature. I love being in nature, out in the middle of nowhere, its peaceful. I love to read, its one of my favorite things to do in my spare time!

Why I am a Mormon

It was the only thing that felt right. I didn't know what I was exactly looking for, or exactly what I needed. I just knew that there was something missing, until I met with the missionaries, that is.

How I live my faith

I stay as active as I can! Church every Sunday, of course, but also Family Home Evening with the Young Single Adults, and institute! and most importantly prayer and scripture study :)

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Marybeth
When I was taking lessons from the missionaries, baptism was one of the first things that struck me. In particular, I loved that we believe baptism should be at a later age, instead of as an infant. The reason being is that as an infant we do not suffer from original sin. We aren't held accountable for the fall of Adam. The fall needed to happen for us to be here today. In fact, it wasn't a sin at all it was a transgression. The other reason we believe in being baptized at a later age is because babies cannot sin! They don't understand right from wrong yet. How wonderful baptism is! It was my door to a new life. Show more Show less
