Hi I'm Samantha

I am a happily married mother of four, two boys and two girls. I work full-time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married for 12 years and I am a very busy mother of four. I work full-time outside of my home and try to be a wonderful wife and mom (which I'm still working on).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but did not always follow it's teachings. Through high school I did my own thing. When I got into college, I had a roommate that worked on me for two years. She would always tell me "I love you but what you are doing is wrong". I will always be thankful for her listening to the spirit and knowing what to say to bring me back. At the end of our college years, I decided she was right and I returned to activity in the church. It was a long hard road back but one that was definitely worth it. I married my husband in the temple and am so grateful I have the opportunity to be with him not just here on this earth but for the eternities. We did go through a short period after being married of inactivity again. About 2 years into our marriage, we decided we couldn't live a double life anymore. We were either going to be a part of the church or not at all. We decided that we wanted to be a part of it and raise our children according to what we know is right and we have not looked back since. We teach our children the scriptures and they are now developing a testimony of their own. We tell them not to take our word for it but find out for themselves if they believe what they are being taught.

How I live my faith

Our family holds family prayers every morning and evening. We also do family scripture study every evening before we go to bed. We hold family home evening every Monday where we get together as a family and either learn a lesson from the scriptures or do a fun family activity. Our children love the time we spend together as a family and it helps keep us close to each other. I teach the children in our ward that are turning 11 this year the stories from the scriptures. I love to listen to their testimony grow and hope to enforce the teachings of our Savior before they hit those teenage years and have the really difficult choices in front of them. I have served in the past as a teacher of teenage girls ranging from 16-18 years old. I loved serving them as well and having frank conversations with them of the challenges of that age and the teachings we have been given to get through those challenges. I love serving the youth in our church and helping them through difficult situations that may arise, strengthening their testimony, and reminding them of our Heavenly Father's love for them no matter what happens in life.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

This is a personal journey that each of us must take. We can hear of others experiences but we must come to know Heavenly Father for ourselves. We have a witness of him everyday through his creations all around us this beautiful earth, animals, moutains and seas, and most importantly our family. I came to know my Heavenly Father first and foremost through prayer. Asking him questions I needed answers to, feeling his love, and getting answers to those questions in return. I read my scriptures, The Book of Mormon and the Bible, to learn more fully who He is and what He wants for us. I tested Him by keeping his commandments and proving His blessings as outlined in the scriptures. I have read the testimonies of special witnesses called prophets and apostles. I have learned about His son Jesus Christ and how he lived while here on this earth. As I continued searching, the Holy Ghost spoke the truth of the things I read and learned to my heart. The feeling of knowing the truth for yourself is indescribable and is not something you can deny. Show more Show less
