Hi I'm Stephen

I'm a Financial Advisor, snowboarding is my passion and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Stephen and I'm a Mormon. I work as a Wealth Advisor and assist people in reaching their financial dreams. My wife has the real full-time job of being a mom to our little baby girl. I have a degree in Economics and love to read. However, as my wife would put it, I only read "boring books"! My sweet wife, our daughter, and our hairy dog love to be outdoors! Whether it is out on a hiking trail, on the mountain snowboarding, or on the golf course we love to enjoy nature! Another passion of ours is traveling. I had the opportunity to live in New Zealand where I learned to speak Mandarin Chinese. My wife lived in India and spent time in Peru on different humanitarian projects. We met through a mutual friend while we were in college and I have been crazy about her ever since! Right after getting married, we moved to China and really grew closer as a couple. From our experiences abroad, we have seen many different walks of life, made friends all over the world, and have developed a true appreciation for the blessings we have in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to understand one simple yet fundamental truth. That truth is that I am a son to a loving Father in Heaven. Each one of us are sons or daughters of God. He loves us and he cares about us. I don't know if I ever fully understood God's love for me until I had my own daughter. There is not a thing that I would't do to try to make her happy or to take away her pain. And that is the same type of relationship that we have with our Father in Heaven. God loves us and wants to help us, we just need to be willing to ask Him. Through prayer, I am able to pour out my soul to God and share my thoughts, concerns, worries, and gratitude with Him. He does answer. At times, I may not understand His answer or reasoning. And is it never according to my time line, but He does answer. In the book of Matthew in the New Testament, Jesus Christ teaches, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." I know that because I am a son of God that he loves me and wants to help me grow as an individual. The purpose of prayer is not to try and change God's will but to help me better align my will with His. This lesson can be hard to understand at times but he does love me. Because I understand that I am a son of a loving Father in Heaven, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the way I treat others. In my occupation, I have the opportunity each day to visit with people and discuss their financial situation. Often, they share much more about themselves then just their financial issues. I try to do what many people don't do and that is to just listen. Many people have issues weighing heavily on their shoulders and at times they just need a friendly smile and an ear to listen to them. I know that each person I meet throughout my day has their own hopes and dreams as well as concerns and burdens. If I have been placed in someones life and I can help lift a portion of their burden, then I need to do so. Plenty of people talk about being Christian with their words, but I choose to show I am a Christian through my actions. That is how I have chosen to live my life and my faith.
