Hi I'm Trev

I was a distance runner in high school and college. I Love to build things. I am a computer geek. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of seven wonderful children. For work, I design software to simplify complex tasks and automate repetitive tasks. For pleasure, I love building things, whether it be with software, wood, or metal. I am also passionate about restoring and protecting liberty for the people of my country, and volunteer time to help with causes to that end.

Why I am a Mormon

There's a ton of confusion about religion in the world. I believe that God is not the author of that confusion, and that he wants us to know truth when it is presented to us. I am a Mormon because I've come to know that the Savior has restored His church to the earth through prophets in our time. There is literally a prophet on the earth today who is authorized by God to speak for Him. Our Father's children no longer must wander aimlessly, holding onto fragments of truth that they've stumbled upon as "religion" fails to provide the answers to their questions, such as: why are we here, what is my purpose, what happens after death, will I see my loved ones again, and so many other important questions. I am a Mormon because I have studied the scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon) and I have prayed to know of their truthfulness. I testify that I know for myself that it's true. Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw. Christ's church is again on the earth - and He's leading it. The authority to administer the sacred ordinances has been restored. God loves us. He wants us to understand His plan. He wants to bless us (all of His children) with light and understanding. I encourage you to read, ponder, and pray about the Book of Mormon. If what I'm saying is true... If the book is what it claims to be, then God will answer you if you ask whether it's true, and you ask sincerely, with the intent to act on the knowledge He gives you. May God bless you in your pursuit of Truth.

How I live my faith

For a number of years I've worked with the Boy Scouts. Having attained the rank of Eagle as a youth, I enjoy helping other young men grow to be great citizens of their community and their country. Serving in this way gives me the opportunity to 'pay back' those who mentored me by mentoring others. I love the quote, sometimes attributed to St. Francis of Assisi: "Preach Christ, and if you must, use words." Regardless the human source of the thought, it resonates with me and I prefer to live and show my faith in this way - hoping the light of Christ will touch others along the way. I believe we can each be a conduit for God's love to bless the lives of His other children, which comprise all races and religions of people on earth.
