Hi I'm Megan

I'm a Mormon girl from Indiana. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full-time mom of 4 kids. I live in northern California, but I grew up in Indiana and have also lived in Florida and Utah. I love warm weather, traveling, reading, writing and editing, running/walking, and teaching children. My husband and I spend lots of time watching/supporting our kids' sporting events and other activities, but we also carve out time for a date most weekends. Movies, dinner, and spending time with friends are our favorites.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me happiness and stability. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a tremendous blessing in my life. The values and teachings are an anchor for my family to hold to, which is incredibly important in today's world. My children have teachings and commandments to guide and help them form their own values and goals. Being led by a living prophet who receives revelation from Jesus Christ is a wonderful blessing. I'm very thankful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm a volunteer leader for the Webelos cub scouts in our area. I get to work with 10-year-old boys - yes, it's messy and noisy, but rewarding. Our church emphasizes scouting, and many of the young men go on to become Eagle scouts. I am also assigned to visit 2 women each month, just to check up on them and share an inspiring message. This is called "visiting teaching," and I've made several really close friends through this program. Very cool!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Serving a mission is purely voluntary. Young men can serve a two-year mission when they turn 18, and women can serve for 18 months when they are 19. Older, retired couples often serve missions too. Giving up a portion of your life is a sacrifice, but to go anywhere in the world, meet new people, and share the message of Jesus Christ's gospel is so worth it. Show more Show less
