Hi I'm Mandi

I grew up in California. I love to laugh! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm recently married. I work at a quaint southern BBQ restaurant with the best hushpuppies. Most of my hobbies are similar to a 4 year old's(or at least my husband tells me so): coloring, dancing, singing, watching thunderstorms, looking at interesting creatures in the yard, eating, and playing outside. Really I just love watching little kids and I guess it rubs off on me.

Why I am a Mormon

My membership in this church is something that has been tried and tested throughout my life and yet has not wavered, but stood firm. I was raised by parents who were members and followed in their guiding footsteps. But when it was time for the storms and waves of life, I was left only with my own thoughts and beliefs. What did I believe? Who am I to follow? Why and for what purpose? These questions, among many others, were answered through study, prayer, and patience and I have become a person who is very sure in what I believe and who I follow. My relationship in Jesus Christ is what gets me through the storms. His gospel and teachings is what I follow and what brings me the ultimate happiness. I know because I've tried it and tested it over and over. The Book of Mormon, another testament and witness of Christ, brings me peace and comfort as I follow its teachings hand in hand with that of the Bible.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I teach 12 and 13 year olds about Jesus Christ and how we can better follow Him. It is a great opportunity to see teenagers take a break from facebook and texting friends for a moment and focus on something meaningful.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We absolutely regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God. Without it, we would be missing so much! Similarly, we believe there is more Holy Scripture out there for us to partake in. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and His teachings, written in the Ancient Americas. "10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written. 11 For I command all men, both in the east and in the west, and in the north, and in the south, and in the islands of the sea, that they shall write the words which I speak unto them; for out of the books which shall be written I will judge the world, every man according to their works, according to that which is written." - 2 Nephi 29:10-11 (in the Book of Mormon).
