Hi I'm Ryan

I'm Central California; I'm a conflict management specialist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a wonderful woman. I like a capella music. I like talking to people in their native language.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the integral way it affects my life for the better; because the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me be a better me in every way. I also like that I have plenty of room to be me even though the Church’s teachings can affect every part of my life. I am a Mormon because of my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because I like being Mormon.

How I live my faith

The manifestation of my faith could be described as communion with God through study, service and prayer. I feel the love of my Heavenly Father as I pray to express thanks and seek direction or other special blessings for myself and others. Being able to have access to God is simultaneously humbling and empowering. Service in the Church is something I take seriously. I have been a teacher, a clerk, an interpreter, a translator, a missionary, and a leader in various organizations for periods of one to two years. I also participate in monthly visits to certain families in the Church to strengthen and encourage them. Serving others, especially in ways that bring them closer to God, is one of the most Christian things we can do. Studying the Holy Scriptures has been a great blessing for me. Immersing myself daily in God’s words to His prophets and in the histories of His dealings with His children I find myself renewed and better prepared to take on a new day. Reading the scriptures has a tempering effect on my sometimes fiery nature that helps me in my interactions with others, especially with my family.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe that God is a person with emotions, thoughts and feelings and that He even has a body that is glorified and immortal. We believe that He is perfect in every way. We believe that He has all power and that he knows everything. We believe that God is literally the father of our spirits. That means everyone who has died, will be born or who is alive today has an integral part of them that is divine. We also believe that He knows us individually and loves us individually as well as collectively. Our greatest desire is to be more like our Heavenly Father, which is only made possible through the sacrifice of our elder brother Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Lots of people. Mormon was a man of God and a prophet who lived some 400 years after Christ and made a compilation of some of the writings of God's dealings with and words to His servants who lived in ancient times somewhere in the Americas. Show more Show less
