Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Southern Colorado. I am an Environmental Studies Major in school, a husband and father of 3.

About Me

I am a husband of 12 years and a father of 3 great kids. I grew up on a farm in a small mountain town. I have a bachelors degree in Environmental Studies and love the outdoors. I enjoy rock climbing, camping, hiking, and just spending time with nature. I find peace in the woods and enjoy the time to reflect and grow closer to God. My family is everything to me and the time that we have together is one of my greatest blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many of our faith I grew up in the church. My family and ancestors have a long history of service in the church. However despite being surrounded by my faith all my life I had what I call a crisis of faith. It was a time in my life when I was not sure if all that I had been taught was true. I remember feeling unsure about so many things. One day I came across what has become my favorite scripture in the book of Matthew 11: 28-30 which says: 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and i will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. I realized that you can be taught about Christ or be a member of his church and still miss him completely. Through sincere prayer, study and a desire to come unto Christ I have come to know that the Gospel is true. That the faith of my fathers is true. I have scene the evidence of Gods love for me and his divine hand to guide, comfort and protect me. I have come to know that by truly coming unto Christ we find more strength, comfort, knowledge and ability to accomplish all that life has to offer.

How I live my faith

I am currently blessed to serve as a counselor to a wonderful Bishop in my ward. Serving in this capacity has blessed my life as I have had the opportunity to teach, assist, serve and learn from others in a new way. While this responsibility at times can be demanding, I have come to see that the Lord blesses me beyond my ability. I live my faith by the decisions I make each day. I live my faith by remembering that God is in everything and in every moment. By seeing him at work in my life each day I grow closer to him and strengthen a profound reverence for the world he created and the things that he has taught.
