Hi I'm Lauren

I'm newly married, about to be a first-time mom, dirt poor, and loving it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married just over a year to my awesome husband, and together we are expecting our very first baby boy. We are both students at BYU but recently made the move to Florida so my husband could pursue a professional internship and (hopefully) a full-time career at Disney. We are living the American dream in a one-bedroom apartment, and we are so happy. Though currently unemployed, I'm an animal lover and certified Veterinary Technician. I am constantly learning new things and exercising my brain with logic puzzles, sudoku, rubiks cubes and the like. In my free time I also enjoy art, sports, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church and never really knew any different at first. My own testimony developed through scripture study, earnest prayer, and living the principles of the Gospel. I am still amazed every day by the happiness that comes from following the commandments and developing a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because of the unbelievable happiness it brings.

How I live my faith

My faith took on a whole new meaning over the past year. Before, living my faith meant going to church every week, fulfilling my callings, and being kind to others who were struggling. Now, I'm on the receiving end of such service as we have taken on new challenges over the past year. Between getting pregnant, losing my job, and our sudden move to Florida, our lives have been really unpredictable lately. During a time when even our immediate future is uncertain, my faith has never been so important to me. Every day I feel the spirit's guiding force in my life. I hope to take this experience and use it to help others going through similar situations in the future.
