Hi I'm McKenzie

I'm a career woman, a wife, and a mother. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a family of four, the only girl. The princess if you will. When I turned 18 and my mother introduced me during my first Sunday Relief Society meet (the women's organization in our faith), she said that my motto was "Princess is nice, Queen would be better." Raised on the East Coast I have an appreciation for gladiolas and fireflies and have a love/hate relationship with the humidity. Left the for college where I studied Spanish and political science during college and public administration during graduate school. After graduate school, I decided to stick around helping students develop and find the tools and resources to be successful as they begin their careers. I love my job, but the most important part of my life is my husband, the perfect man for me, and my sweet, rambunctious toddler.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized when I was eight years old, I have come to know through conversion the truthfulness of this Gospel. I have been converted to the teachings of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and believe that through Him and obedience to the laws and ordinances of His full and restored Gospel, I can return to Him and our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by emulating Jesus Christ. I try to pray frequently, study Gospel principles, and serve in the Church. I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach monthly lessons to groups of 30 or more woman on life principles and values and now get to organize activities for girls ages 8-12 to help them develop their own talents and to learn more about the Gospel.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

McKenzie
Yes, a Restoration of the Gospel was needed. When Christ and the Twelve Apostles died, much of the truth of the full Gospel of Jesus Christ was lost. The world was without revelation, without a Prophet, and in essence the Heavens closed. The world needed a Restoration to reopen the Heavens and to regain the full light and truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When God the Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith, they re-instituted the full and everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know this to be true and testify that I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that God himself appeared to him, reopening the Heavens to revelation and the full and everlasting Gospel.
