Hi I'm Maranda

I'm Canadian, I'm a student, I'm a musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a university student studying music. Music is my passion and I love learning the art of music performance. I am the youngest of 8 children and love being the baby in my family. I have 25 nieces and nephews, and when I'm not studying, I'm spending my time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

As a missionary, I met a lot of people whose lives had been negatively affected by harmful addictions as part of their cultural lifestyle. These people lived one day to the next with no hope in the future and a sense of self-hatred. As I shared the message of Jesus Christ with them, and they began to understand that God was their Father and that His love for them was unconditional, their attitude and desires changed so dramatically for the better, that I couldn't deny the power of the Gospel. I was able to watch as the lessons from the Book of Mormon changed their behaviours and brought their personalities in line with the Saviour's. I saw their weaknesses turn into strengths, and their bitterness turn into hope. From that experience, I came to know that the Book of Mormon is truly the ultimate self-help book, and Heavenly Father, the ultimate therapist. I learned that the Atonement is powerful and real, and as God's children, we are never alone.

How I live my faith

I currently attend a congregation of all young single adults, and my job is to help take care of the needs of the women in our branch. The Book of Mormon teaches us to "bear one another's burdens" and I am able to put that principle into action as I look for ways to help each sister. It is a lot of fun to share similar life experiences with each other and to support each other in our quest to be the best we can be.
