Hi I'm Michael McBride

Born and raised in Utah. Water polo is my thing. I love my family, and love to write. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Santa Rosa California. I love bring around people and making new friends. Music and writing are my passions. Traveled around the US and other contries and enjoyed the beauty of what God has placed all around us. Water polo and swimming are a huge part of my life, but I would never have gotten to where I am without my family. My mom and dad are significant influences in my life, and they have kept the family all close. Being happy is what I'm about. I enjoy life becuase of the friends and family God has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

Born and raised Mormon didn't always mean believed and lived Mormon. For many years of my life, I went through the motions of it all. Life took its course and I found myself really having to face up to what I claimed to believe. With the death of some friends and close family members, I began to see life from a different perspective. The gospel became real to me. I had vivid and clear instances where I felt and saw how true this gospel is, and that God has a plan for us. He loves me and my family, and I felt His love envelop me through times of trial, difficutly, and loneliness. As I felt these things, I had the chance to share them with two of my close friends, who in turn were baptized not long before I left on my mission. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is real, it is once again upon the earth, His priesthood is restored to provide us the opportunity to partake of sacred ordinances like baptism and confirmation. Families can be eternal, through this same saving priesthood power. The Book of Mormon is evidence of these blessings, their reality can be made known to you through study and prayer, by the power of the Holy Ghost. Then, just as my friends and I have experienced, life has a definite purpose. I continue to follow this path in my life, because God has witnessed to me this is His way. My family has become closer as we have all applied the principles of prayer, forgiveness, faith in Christ, and respect. This is available for everyone.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am serving a full time mission in California, spreading the joy of Christ's gospel. Previously I had the chance to plan activities with the youth my age for camping trips, weekly events that strengthen us, and providing service monthly to people in our community. I have brought friends to church to help them find the same experience and joy that I have felt there. Through sports teams, I would not always fit in with some people's activities or be noticed as the one who didn't participate on Sundays, but I always took it as an opportunity to share why. As a missionary, I talk to everyone that I can, providing service, love, and always seek to share the gospel.

Are Mormons Christians?

Michael McBride
A prophet of God and prior President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gordon B. Hinckley said, "We are Christians in a very real sense and that is coming to be more and more widely recognized.... We, of course, accept Jesus Christ as our Leader, our King, our Savior...the dominant figure in the history of the world, the only perfect Man who ever walked the earth, the living Son of the living God. He is our Savior and our Redeemer through whose atoning sacrifice has come the opportunity of eternal life." We put our trust in God and know that only in and through Jesus Christ may we return to live in His presence. Christ suffered, bled, and died so that we may come unto him, follow his example and be redeemed from the depths of sin. Show more Show less
