Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in a small farm town. I am the father of 3 and I have earned my PhD in Chemistry at Purdue and now work for BASF.

About Me

I was born in Mason City, Iowa and when I was young my family moved to Ohio. I grew up in the small town of Danville, OH (population ~1,000). Growing up I always enjoyed playing sports and focused a lot of my attention to football and swimming. I graduated from high school and decided to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Following my mission I attended BYU-Idaho and earned my bachelor's degree in chemistry. While at BYU-Idaho I married my lovely wife Heather Reed and we had our first daughter Lydia. After graduating, I decided to continue my education at Purdue University where I earned my doctorate in chemistry. While at graduate school Heather and I had two more children, Colton and Jocelyn. I then graduated from Purdue University in 2013 and was offered a job at BASF, The Chemical Company. I have been working for BASF for almost 1 year.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the teachings of the church bring me joy and peace. These teachings are also uplifting for my children and give them direction and a purpose. I also know that by living the principles taught by the church I will be able to live with my wife and children for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be more like Jesus. I feel I accomplish this by helping and serving others.
