Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy time with family, working on our home (we are building), playing my flute, ceramics and keeping in touch with old friends on Facebook and through email. I recently graduated from college with an elementary teaching degree and have been substitute teaching while waiting for a teaching position to open up. My husband and I have a very large "his, mine and our" family and we stay quite busy trying to keep up with all the many important events taking place in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was 18 years old and had just graduated from high school when I joined the Church. I always felt welcome and a sense of peace and friendship with the members while investigating the Church. I had an experience during the time I was taking missionary discussions. There was a copy of an Ensign, a magazine published by the Church, on my brother's table (his wife was a member). On the cover was an artist's depiction of The Prophet Joseph Smith. As I looked at that picture, I had a marvelous feeling come over me, from the top of my head down to the ends of my toes, telling me that Joseph Smith was everything he said he was - a true prophet of God, called to restore the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ and priesthood to the earth! The Holy Ghost was bearing witness of truth to my soul. I know for myself that Joseph Smith indeed was a prophet of God! I have also gained a personal testimony that The Book of Mormon is God's word and a record of the ancient inhabitants of the American continents, as well as another testament of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

I have been an active member of the Church for 38 years. It has changed my life and is now affecting generations. At first I was the only member in my family. Now, our children and beautiful grandchildren are being raised with gospel truth to guide their lives. They are being taught to love God and keep His commandments; to value and protect family and high moral standards; to work hard, get an education and be self-reliant, contributing members of society. We praise God, our Father in Heaven for the rich and abundant blessings The Gospel of Jesus Christ has brought into our lives!
