Hi I'm April

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend. I exercise so I can eat the things I love to make in the kitchen. I have run 1/2 marathons, done triathlons, and enjoy bike rides with my family. I don't have much of a green thumb, but every year I plant a garden and cherish that few cukes and potatoes that grow. I love reading. I'll read most anything from sci-fi to classics, poetry to historical fiction. I have been told that I must be solar powered - I simply function better when I can be outside, enjoying the sunshine. Spending time with my family is very important to me. Whether that be Sunday dinner and a relaxing evening in, or family reunions at Yellowstone, that time is precious. Traveling and learning more about our world is very important. Even trips close to home help me teach my children the importance of taking care of the world God gave us. I love my life and feel very blessed to live where I do at this stage of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents chose to raise me as a member of this faith. At times I have questioned my own devotion, but their dedication to the teachings of Jesus Christ helped steer me to find my own reasons to live it. I have studied the Book of Mormon and prayed to know of its' truth. I appreciate the emphasis placed on eternal families and the importance of taking care of our bodies.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating as much as I can. Currently I work with the teenaged girls of our congregation. I sit with them for Sunday lessons, and help the instructor increase their knowledge of our Savior. With the girls, we plan weekly activities to help them form closer relationships with others of their faith. Some of these are simply fun, and others help them understand how Jesus Christ wants them to serve others. I admire the dedication these young women have as they strive to become more like our Savior.
