Hi I'm Stephen

I love to run. I love having fun and being goofy. And im a Mormon

About Me

My name is Stephen, i am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter Day Saints in the Fort Worth, Texas mission. I love every minute of it. I also love to do sports of which i did many of while going through jr high and High school. Such as Wrestling which is awesome, track, football, baseball and basketball and Cross Country. But out of all of them i love running. I love the Sport of running, to me it test and pushes, making me a better person each time i run a hard race. A lot like life. I also love to be really goofy and have a good time, i mean what is life if we don't smile and laugh while going through it? I grew up in a really good sized family. My mom and dad, three sisters and me. I am the youngest and love it, being the only boy is not to bad. I love my family so much and love being on a mission. I love life all because of my family, they have always supported me and have given me help through all my trials. Family is the single most important thing to me besides God.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the mormon church and was raised to believe in my savior Jesus Christ. I knew when i was younger that my parents would never lie to me and that what i was being taught had to be true. But that was all before the trials of teenage "wondering who i am" came about and the struggle to understand the purpose of life. Ever since i was in Jr high i never really questioned the church, i just didn't know where i could find my own testimoney. It wouldn't be until i had gone through what some call the "refiners fire" that i would find what i knew to be true. It wasn't all on just one experience that i have recieved my testimoney, but time and time again the gospel has proven itself to be true as i have tested it with questions that come from trials in my life. I believe one big testimoney building moment would be while i have been on my mission. I had only been out six months on my mission when i recieved a phone call that would send questions running through my mind. I received a phone call from my mission president or mission leader that my grandfather had passed away. Now as simple as it seems to lose a grandparent, it was not for me. My grandfather had such a close relationship that i was devastated for a time. Until i read one day in the Book Of Mormon in Alma 4012 where my grandpa was. The scripture spoke peace to my mind, and through the Holy Ghost i came to not only know where my grandfather is, but that the Book of Mormon is true and that i will see him again one day, and in that day i will be able to hug him and tell him just how much i missed and love him. I know through experience that this church is true and that through a modern day prophet named Joseph Smith God restored truths once lost to the earth, once again. I know that we will see those we have lost again in the coming day of our lords coming. I love my savior and am so gratiful for all he did for me. I can never repay him.

How I live my faith

Being a mormon is fun and very rewarding. Lots of people think it is just a lot of rules and restrictions to "having fun" but by living the Gospel and following Gods commandments we can be kept safe and given something better then "fun." We will be given eternal joy and happiness, and who doesn't want that? Day to day i serve as a missionary going door to door telling others of the glorious message of the restoration of Christ Gospel in its fullness. I get to meet wonderful people in the state of Texas, who are some of the nicest people i have ever met. Sharing the Gospel for two years has been one of the biggest blessing of my life. Watching people change their lives and just seeing the smile on their faces is enough to make me smile for eternity. This is what i call true "fun."
