Hi I'm Paul D Raymond

I'm a Mormon. I am a retired civil engineer, grew up on a farm in Montana and love to talk about religion, politics and philosophy

About Me

I am a father of 4 and a grandfather of 11. I am a retired civil engineer, and have worked for municipal government most of my career. I enjoy being with people, discussing religion, world politics, science, space and learning what is true. I love the gospel and the peace it brings me. I love to study gospel doctrine and have a deep testimony of the restored Church. I grew up on a farm/ranch in western Montana. In this setting I received a foundation on which I would build my life. I learned about caring and sincere people, how to work, how to take on responsibility and about what is important and what is not.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ. I love the Book of Mormon because it testifies of Christ and His atoning sacrifice for all. I know that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son, and through that experience he was able restore the gospel of Jesus Christ and testify to the world that the Father and the Son have bodies of flesh and bone as do we. I am a Mormon because the church teaches us how we can become perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect, allowing me to dwell where he dwells, have what he has and do what he does and to share with my eternal companion the ability to have an unlimited posterity. Based on my testimony of the restored gospel, I have put all my eggs in this basket. I have read the Book of Mormon many times, and through the Holy Ghost, can testify to you that it is true. It does not replace our Bible (the King James Version); rather, it complements and supports the Bible. The Bible covers the time from Adam to the time of Christ and focuses on the geographical area around Jerusalem. On the other hand, the Book of Mormon covers Christ’s ministry in New World (The Americas) and also the history of a people that existed there between 600 BC and 400 AD. I testify to you in the sacred name of Jesus Christ that if you will read from the pages of the Book of Mormon every day, it will have a profound impact on your life.

How I live my faith

My wife and eternal companion, Connie, and I have been called to be ordinance workers in the Boise Idaho Temple. We strive to live our lives so that those with whom we come in contact will know who and what we represent. To share the gospel, my wife and I have accepted a call to serve as missionaries in the Zimbabwe Harare mission, where we currently reside. It is humbling and spiritually uplifting to be here. Our duties include teaching the youth about Jesus Christ and helping (providing shadow leadership) a newly established congregation become established and organized sufficient to bless its members, community and country.
