Hi I'm Scotty

I'm a full time student, raised a country boy, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a son and brother. I grew up on a farm and then later had it as my first job, so I like to work hard. I'm a sophomore in college, I'm an Exercise Science major. I want to become a physical therapist. I love sports, either watching or playing. Especially baseball! I listen to a lot of music, any chance I get I turn up the tunes.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, or Latter-Day Saint, because of examples. Examples of my parents, examples of my siblings and most importantly the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Christ is the motivation for everything. I've learned first hand that He does have a Prophet on the earth. As I've strive to find Christ's words in scripture( the Bible and The Book of Mormon), I have found them in even greater abundance from the mouth's of His Prophet. As I've worked to follow the example of Jesus I have seen that the greatest way to do that, is by living the teachings of the Gospel. I strive to be kind and treat others with respect.

How I live my faith

Each day we all have choices to make. The choices I make reflect the things I believe. I choose to live the Word of Wisdom, I search the scriptures to understand the words of Christ and what He wants me to do. I attend religious classes at Institute. I serve in church callings and serve whenever possible

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Scotty
The answer to this question lies in the question itself. To increase your faith you first need the desire to increase your faith. As you have faith in things that are true, such as the Atonement of Jesus Christ, then you act on it, in this case you would repent. Faith is like a muscle, if you don't use it you lose it. We must exercise our faith in Jesus Christ. We can keep the commandments, we can study the scriptures, and pray. As we do these things each day our faith can become stronger and stronger especially as we act on these things. We must do what we've learned in our scripture study and act on the impressions we receive from our prayers. An example, if you pray about The Book of Mormon and learn that it is true, which I know it is, we must then be baptized, or our faith becomes dormant. So, like Nephi, "go and do" 1 Nephi 3:7.
