Hi I'm Voni

I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, recovering addict and codependent, sexual trauma survivor and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Voni and I am a recovering addict, codependent and sexual trauma survivor. I was introduced to the world of sexual type addictions at a very young age. My first encounter was 4 years old. I hadn’t even been taught about the dangers yet. When I was introduced to porn, I was immediately addicted. I struggled with sexual addiction until I was 18 years old. It was by my faith, the blessing of my Bishop, parents who helped and most importantly because of the mercy of a loving Heavenly Father and through my Saviors atoning sacrifice that I was able to overcome my sexual addictions. He continues to heal me and ever will continue to heal me as long as I turn to him. As a result of my experiences and the growing problem with Pornography in the world, I have become an advocate to help others recover. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. However, my testimony is something that is very much my own. As a teenager, I spent time talking to my Father in Heaven through prayer. The peace and love I felt confirmed to me the truth of the gospel. Prayer continues to play a huge role in my life. I am a life long student of the Gospel. The answers are all there and they make complete sense. I love the Book of Mormon and the Bible. We try to study the scriptures daily as a family, when we are consistent with this, there is a beautiful feeling in our home. I love how we are always increasing in knowledge. I love the teachings of Jesus Christ. I feel close to Him as I study His life and words. I can honestly say because of this beautiful gospel, I have a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. My greatest desire is for my children to develop a love for their Savior Jesus Christ and to treat each other as the Savior would. I love the teachings of the atonement and feel hope in that the Savior Jesus Christ has paid the price for all sins. This knowledge gives me peace in that I know I can be forgiven of my daily imperfections and gives me the motivation to try harder to become the individual the Lord would have me be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the scriptures, praying daily to my Father in Heaven, and by teaching my children about who they are and the important role they play in today's world. It isn't always easy, but certainly worth it. My husband and I, set aside one day a week for a special family night. This strengthen's our family relationships. We sometimes have lessons that teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ or we spend the time playing games, watching a movie or just sitting around telling jokes and laughing. I attend church each week to renew my covenants with the Lord that I made at baptism.
