Hi I'm Tami

I'm a mother of 2 boys, one with special needs, a wife and a part-time pharmacist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and wife. I have 2 sweet boys, one with cerebral palsy. I love to play piano and tennis. I enjoy cooking, but do not enjoy cleaning my house! I try to keep up on scrapbooking but always seem to be falling behind. While I am mostly a stay at home mom, I also work part-time as a pharmacist and enjoy helping others in my community.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a latter day saint, but at some point had to decide for myself if I would continue in this tradition. When I was 15, I was asked point blank how I knew the church was true. I was overwhelmed with the spirit as I replied, "I just do." As I've gotten older and had doubts, I have always turned to my Heavenly Father in prayer. And the answer is always the same, that as I was taught precept upon precept throughout my life about this gospel, I came to an understanding and knowledge that this was the way for me to be truly happy. When my youngest son was born prematurely, and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy, I was so grateful for the knowledge I had. I was strengthened with the support from members of my congregation, but also truly strengthened through prayer. I felt like I was guided to solutions and with help through acute situations, and often feel the tender mercies of the Lord as I take care of my special child. I am reminded each day that our Heavenly Father loves each of us.

How I live my faith

Each day I try to serve my family and those around me with love and compassion. I try to teach my son morals and values in a World with declining morals and values. I try to create an environment in my home in which others would feel welcome and at peace. I support my husband as he supports our family. I have had many opportunities to serve within the church in various organizations. I have served among the women of the church, planning activities to enrich their lives. I have served in the nursery and grew to love the little ones. I play organ for our meetings and piano for the choir. I currently am the emergency preparedness specialist and help others to be prepared for unforseen events and emergencies that may occur, and how to live providently. I have also had opportunities to serve as we host a community nativity event that we share with our neighbors each year, reminding them of the true spirit of the Christmas season. My faith sustains me through difficult times, and supports me on a daily basis as I learn how to be a good parent, be a loving wife, a good neighbor and a woman.
