Hi I'm Kami H.

I was born and grew up in Thailand. I am happily married to my best friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the only child and was raised alone by my mom. I received my Bachelor's in communications from Hawaii and am looking for an opportunity to further my education. I have been happily married for about 1 1/2 years to my best friend. I am very grateful to be married into such an amazing family. My husband and I both love cultures and languages. We love good music and enjoy good movies. We both love being close to nature. And we both love being together. My husband is attending college and will graduate next year in Middle East Studies and Arabic Language. We do not have kids but we would love to add little members into our family in the near future. I currently work as a sale associate for a well-known store. In free time, I like to listen to music, clean the house and cook. I am also fascinated and would like to learn more about photography.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1999, my mom and I met with the sister missionaries with the intent to learn English. Having been Buddhist by birth, it was not easy to convert our strong beliefs to something that was a whole new concept to us. Prior to learning the gospel, we told the missionaries that we would never join the church because we were already happy of where and what we were. However, after learning the gospel, we were both touched by the spirit and couldn't deny the feelings. Since my mom was a single mom and raised me by herself, we have a very special bond that others cannot comprehend. We knew that we would never be apart in this life. But we were afraid of the thing which we had no control of: death. When we heard about "The Plan of Salvation" and "Family can be together forever", we were full of joy and knew that we finally found our answer. We knew the only way to make it possible is that we must enter the baptismal covenant. In March 2000, we both joined the church and have been faithful members ever since. The gospel brings me so much joy and happiness in life. And I can't imagine how and what my life would be if I never learned gospel. I am so grateful that I found the true happiness that can and will last forever in this gospel.

How I live my faith

Since became a member, I have served faithfully in all the callings that I received. Back in Thailand, I participated in as many church activities as possible. Every activity helps me bond with other people - both members and nonmembers - and also strengthens my characters so one day I can become who I want to be. I am currently a ward missionary and a primary teacher. I am very excited to do these callings especially as a primary teacher because I get to be with adorable little ones. I believe that at one way or another and more or less we all have influence on each other. Therefore, I try hard to be a good example to others and also understanding and accepting people who are different from me. I believe that we are all children of God and everyone deserves to be treated with respect. And the best to show who I am and what I believe is to live my faith which I have in Jesus Christ and His atonement.
