Hi I'm Allison

I am a wife, mother, sister and daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona and I plan to stay here and raise my six children here. I was born and raised in the Church and I plan to stay in the church and raise my children in the church. I am a stay at home mom in a difficult economy and I am so grateful to have a husband who works hard so that I can stay at home and be here for our children. Besides my relationship with my Savior I feel that my relationship with my husband is the most important. When the kids ask who is my favorite? My immediate response is, "Daddy".

Why I am a Mormon

I am blessed to have parents, grandparents, great grandparents and on back who were raised in this Church. However, just because I was raised in the Church, that hasn't locked me into being a Mormon. I have had every opportunity to fall away and chose another life. But thankfully I have, more often than not, made choices that will give me lasting happiness. I am absolutely not perfect but I can see that because I have lived what I have been taught and listened to the Holy Ghost whispering what is right, I have been greatly blessed and avoided a lot of heartbreak and sorrow.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the Church from primary chorister to cub scout leader to choir director. I am currently serving in the Relief Society Presidency. I love Relief Society, it absolutely is a Society that gives Relief. Things are hard. Everyone is having a really hard time and it has been such a blessing to me to be able to go out and visit women who are having hard times and hopefully lift their spirits and make them feel loved and help where I can. It makes my own set of burdens lighter. It gets me out of my own worry wart brain and lets me see more clearly that this life is a test and it doesn't matter what hardships we may be facing, it only matters how we handle them and that totally depends on whether we are turning to our Savior, Jesus Christ for help, or if we are turning away from him.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Allison
Just yesterday my seven year old asked me where her purple shorts were, she wanted to wear them to gymnastics. I told her she was too big for them now and they were too short so I put them in the donation pile. I explained that even for gymnastics she needed to wear clothes that were appropriate and that covered her body. With three beautiful daughters quickly growing up I have a huge job ahead of me to teach them about modesty and how it relates to chastity and their future happiness. It is vital that they learn that keeping themselves chaste and virtuous will spare them a lifetime of heartache and remorse. Show more Show less
