Hi I'm Lauren

I'm from a small town, & love the change of living in a big city. I love singing, cooking, & being a wife & mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in the Midwest. I attended college in Utah, & graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Marriage, Family, & Human Development, with an emphasis in child development. I've always loved working with children, & I enjoyed being an assistant preschool teacher, after graduating. I met my husband at college, we've been married eight years, & have two beautiful daughters. I absolutely LOVE being a full-time stay-at-home mom - it's what I've always wanted to do, for as long as I can remember, & I feel very fortunate to have a husband who fully supports & encourages my decision. I love spending time with my husband & playing with my cute little girls. I'm a raging chocoholic, & love singing & cooking. I'm thrilled to be living in a big city, with a semi-warm climate - it makes up for the first 18 years of my life I grudgingly spent with extremely long, cold & snowy winters!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, my whole life. I've always had strong, positive feelings about being a member of this church, & religiously living by its teachings. I feel this way because whenever I attend church meetings, & make an effort to follow the teachings of the scriptures, prophets, & apostles, in my daily life, my life feels full & complete. My spirit feels healthy & strong. My mind feels open & aware of all the blessings Heavenly Father has showered upon my life. My body feels like it's going to explode with happiness. I've attended other church's services before, & never felt anything close to the warmth & comfort I feel when I attend my church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know the prophet, Joseph Smith, was visited by Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ, & under Their instruction, restored the true Church of Jesus Christ to the earth, & translated the Book of Mormon, a true book of scripture. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, & know he died for my sins & was resurrected. I know Heavenly Father has created a plan of happiness for His children, whereby families can be together forever, & return to live with Him. I feel so blessed to have the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. It's so liberating to know exactly what path to follow, & to have living prophets & apostles to teach & encourage me along the way.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. Currently, at church, my assignment is to lead singing time during children's Sunday school. I love working with young children - they are so innocent & bring so much joy. I also love teaching the children songs about Jesus & His gospel, because this music fills the room & our hearts with the warm feeling of Jesus Christ's love. I'm also a visiting teacher, which is something I've done since I turned 18. I enjoy meeting with other women, discussing spiritual topics together, & making sure their needs are met. In the past, I've held other assignments, at church, I've enjoyed equally as much - chorister, librarian, Sunday school teacher for children & adults, visiting teaching coordinator & supervisor, family home evening group leader, literacy committee member, activities committee leader, & nursery leader. I'm grateful to have had these opportunities to serve - when I contribute my time & talents, I feel I'm helping support & sustain Jesus Christ's Church. Participating in these assignments has also helped me meet & get to know a lot more people & friends than I otherwise would have.
