Hi I'm Mike Richards

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Idaho and spent two wonderful years in Italy as a missionary.

About Me

I have lived in Idaho all my life. High school was a great experience for me and I loved everything about participating in sports and student government. I was never a star athlete but had a great time. I was called to serve a mission for the church to Padova, Italy. My first assignment was near Venice, what a great opportunity to experience the customs and culture of the Italian people. I love the people, language, food, traditions, culture and everything to do with Italy. I married the most beautiful and talented farm girl and we have been blessed with four children and four grandchildren, so far. My wife has a cupcake and chocolate shop and I am in sales. We love the area in which we live and enjoy spending time together with our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon but cannot picture myself without the church in my life. My faith in this church has and continues to offer me so much comfort and stability in an ever-changing world. I have experienced challenges of many different kinds and know that I will continue to face them. My understanding of where I came from, why I am here and where I can be after this life, gives me the security and peace of mind that there is a purpose in this Earth life. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who hears and answers my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he attoned for my sins. I know that through the steps of proper repentance I can be forgiven of my mistakes and become clean again. I know that the family can be an eternal unit and that the power to allow that to happen is here on the earth. What a great feeling to know that the people I love the most can be a part of my live eternally and not be separated from me at the time of death. God speaks to a modern day prophet today and I recieve direction for my life through him.

How I live my faith

As a mormon, I have chosen to be an active participant. I have accepted many voluntary responsibilites over the years to do my part in serving other members of the church. I have spent many years in the scouting and other youth programs. I feel that by applying the principles I am taught as a Mormon, my professional and personal life are richly enhanced.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mike Richards
Of course we are Christian. The name of our church bears the name of Christ. It is His Church restored in these, the latter days. I believe that Christ formed and organized a church while he was on the earth. His church or religion was complete with the authority of God, His father, 12 apostles and the necessary ordinances like baptism. Once He was crucified, and eventually all of the appostles were gone, Christ's church perished and the authority of God no longer was on the Earth. I know that there was a restoration required to bring His church back to the Earth. It is here now and was restored through a modern prophet, Joseph Smith. I strive to live a Christ centered life and live by His past and current teachings and revelations through His prophets. Show more Show less
