Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Utah. I am a medical student on the East Coast. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a medical student in Virginia. It's still pretty early on, but eventually I'd like to become an Emergency Room physician. When I'm not studying, I like to run or work out at the gym. I've done a few races recently, like the National Half Marathon in Washington DC. I though it was pretty cool to run by all of the historic sites during a race.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I am certain that the Gospel helps us become happy, successful people in today's tough world. Through the Church, I have learned how to take pride in my life and my accomplishments. It also gives me a lot of opportunities to do service for other people, which brings me great happiness and helps me be less self-centered. I also find comfort in solace in the teachings of the Church. Through the things I've learned, I have come to better understand the purpose of why I'm here on this Earth. This knowledge and understanding helps me confront the challenges we all face in life, whether it be death, divorce, discouragement, or anything else life throws at me.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday at a congregation that is designed for young, single adults. The people at my Church are from 18-30 years old. It's a great setup for people who are single, allowing us to get to know others that share our beliefs and standards. I am so thankful to be a part of this group. When I moved back East last year, I came out here not knowing a single soul. Now, thanks to the church, I have made many friendships that I'm sure will continue on even after I leave the East Coast. At church, I often teach Sunday school lessons. This is a great opportunity for me to study the scriptures and learn even more than the people that I'm teaching.
