Hi I'm Stephen

I'm a running addict who is in love with soccer, food, and the queen of England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As I said before, I'm a running addict. I love to pull on my trainers, trot out the door, and lose myself in the rhythm of pavement and heartbeats. In between runs, I am a commissioned officer in the USPHS, an RN, a husband, and the proud father of a cat. ----I started this profile a while back and since writing this section my wife and I are now proud parents of a little girl! So now I'm a dad! Still a bit of a shock, but such a good one. I love to read. School hasn't let me read my own choice of books for a while, but soon I'll be reading fantasy and science fiction novels again. (Brandon Sanderson, J.R.R Tolkien, etc.) I also enjoy hanging out with my wife, and playing a pickup game of soccer when I get the chance. I'm probably like anyone reading this with hopes and fears and difficulties. Life is always busy and the challenges never stop coming, but I'm excited for today, tomorrow, and whatever the future decides to send my way.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many reasons why I'm a Mormon, but I'll try to keep this brief. (I don't want to lose the readers interest by presenting a paragraph the size of a short novel.) Reason numero uno: It makes me happy. The teachings of Jesus Christ and the things I've learned from attending church have come to bring me happiness. As I live the commandments that God has given his children, I find peace and know I am doing what is right. This isn't always how I live my life, but the closer I follow Christ's example the happier I am. Reason number two: I have come to the understanding that God lives, his son Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that they have called a living prophet today to represent them and to help me understand Them and their plan for me better.

How I live my faith

Day by day. It can be hard to follow in the footsteps of my savior Jesus Christ, but I: wake up, say my prayers, and look for ways to serve others as He did. I go to church each Sunday with the hope of feeling God's spirit, learning more and more about my Savior Jesus Christ, and gaining strength make right choices in the week ahead. I also attend church to worship God and to offer up thanks and praise for all I have and am in this life. I also visit a few families that attend my local church. These visits happen monthly and I am able to share a message with them about Jesus Christ and his gospel. I also get to know them better and have the chance of serving them with any needs they may have.
