Hi I'm Eve

I grew up on a farm in Idaho. I am now a wife and mother of four children living in Sunny California. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of nine children. I enjoyed a good childhood working on a family farm in Idaho. Spending time with me family gives me joy and strength. I consider my husband and my four children to be the greatest blessings in my life. We live in California where my husband works and I am blessed with the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom. I have a degree in Elementary Education and taught first-grade for a few years before our family started. I loved my first-graders and enjoy continuing my education. I love to garden. Each planting season gives me renewed appreciation for the miracle of life and awe for the blessing of the earth that our Father in Heaven created for us. It reminds me how much He loves us. I enjoy exercising, especially taking family walks and hikes. I also enjoy sewing, reading, and watching good movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored and that the fulness of the gospel is had in this the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believed this as a youth growing up in the church. I tried to live the principles of the gospel and learned that I was happier because of it. I also knew that God blessed me in many ways when I lived the gospel as outlined in the scriptures and by the modern-day prophets. I believed that this church was indeed God's true church, but I also wanted to know for myself that it was true. I had been taught that I could pray to recieve a knowledge through the Holy Ghost of the truthfulness of the Church. I began to pray for that answer. It didn't come right away. II continued to keep the commandments, read from the scriptures especially the Book of Mormon, and attend church . After a few years of seeking for the confirming witness of the spirit, I at last realized that I had been blessed with that knowledge. The good feelings and confirmations that I had felt all along culminated into an understanding that the Holy Ghost had witnessed truths in small ways all along. I realized he had witnessed many times--enough that I could not deny that witnesses and that I could also say without doubting that I knew the truth. Since gaining that testimony, life's experiences have continued to test my faith in various ways. Each test has blessed me with new understandings or deeper faith. I know that God continues to bless me when I try to do what is right. I know that I can continue to receive personal guidance through the Holy Spirit that will guide my life's path in the way that Heavenly Father would like for me to grow and to touch others. I also know that there is great safety in following the counsel of the prophets that God has given us today.

How I live my faith

Teaching my family to have faith is a huge priority in my life. My husband and I find that scripture study and prayer can be hard to do as a family but try to make it a daily part of our lives. We have faith that it will help the children when we can't. Their knowledge of the gospel teachings will help them make choices to be good and honest. We believe that helping them develop a relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is the best thing we can do for them. For we know that they can rely on Him when all other helps are absent.
