Hi I'm Ammon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graphic designer. I work for Nationwide Insurance Company in Columbus Ohio and love doing what I do each day. Combining color, illustration, photography with a message is a wonderful process that can change how we feel, and impact us in a very big and often permanent way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon. The reasons are many. I have had many sacred experiences in my life, all of which have driven me closer to the church with each passing year. There was a time in my life when I was really not sure that I wanted to be a member of the church. It was right after High School, when I moved out on my own. But as I tried other churches, and learned more about myself, I struggled for about six months until, in a moment of clarity, I had a powerful witness of the spirit of God that I needed to serve a full-time mission for the church. I was called to serve the wonderful people of Arizona, but found myself still struggling during the first few months of my mission. When I was about to give up, and go home, I had yet another powerful experience with my companion, and shortly with my Mission President that set me on the path I am today. The rest of my mission was an almost overwhelming collection of intense spiritual experiences and litteral miracles that no person who witnessed could ever refute. My mission changed me forever. After coming home, and serving in the church for ten year, I have personally witnessed how the Lord can mold a person who is willing to submit to him. We need to trust that the Lord does indeed have control, and can turn us into much more than we can become by ourselves. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have felt the spirits witness of this. I have read the Book of Mormon, and that same Spirit has borne testimony to me of its truth. The principals espoused within have changed my life and made me a better person. I have seen what comes of actually living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, rather than just claiming it and doing my own thing. I love the Lord and will do anything that he asks of me. I declare this testimony in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the Stake Young Mens Presidency of the Columbus Ohio Stake of the Church. I love being able to serve my fellow men, especially the youth! In the past few years I have taught early morning seminary, served in my local ward's Elders Quorum Presidency, and taught Gospel Doctrine. Each of these callings has taught me so much about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each has made me a better human being. Each has introduced me to new people that I love and respect. It makes me happy to see people around me working hard for the betterment of all around. I believe that to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to reach out to the poor, the needy and those who are depressed and unable to even see themselves. We should enter the homes of these people and inspire and help them. The Lord fed the hungry and clothed the naked. We can do nothing less. We should give hope to anyone who needs it. Essentially I believe that it means that we are truly a friend to the friendless. That is a beautiful idea.
